Company files layoff notice for employees at USPS Bolger Center in Potomac

The company that manages the Bolger Center is laying off 261 employees at the Potomac conference facility.

Dolce International, the hospitality company that manages the U.S. Postal Serivice-owned conference center, filed notice of the layoffs with the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation Oct. 22. The layoffs would be effective Dec. 31, according to the notice.

Purchased by the USPS in 1980 as a meeting and training facility, the Bolger Center has 430 guest rooms and 75 meeting rooms. More than 85 percent of the center’s revenue comes from external clients holding meetings and other events there, according to an inspector general’s report from September 2013.

  1. Went there 3 times and found my barracks while in the military preferred. However, the food was good. Most of all it was close to a lot of fun places……

  2. The old Bolger Academy, the pleasure palace for the clowns of Elephant Plaza. If one Postal Service property needs to be sold it is this one.

  3. And yet, the expensive, wasteful, private gym for the criminals of L’Enfant Plaza remains open….
