MARION COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – A man was critically injured after a machine fell on top of him at a US Postal Service distribution center in Marion County Saturday morning.
MacGregor said a contractor was repairing a piece of machinery that loads packages onto a conveyor belt when a hydraulic line burst, causing the machine to fall onto him. Officials compared the machine the victim was working on to a dump truck.
Officials are still unsure why the “dump box” of the machine fell onto the victim, but they did say the hydraulic line was under pressure when it burst.
Several postal workers and a maintenance man were there when the accident happened and immediately called 911.

Sorry to report that the “contractor” passed away from the injuries he received at the annex in Indianapolis. Word has it that he was in fact sent to repair the dumper in a second building alone. A 204b went to check on him after he was gone for some time and found him.
