All Out for Massive Labor-Community Protests – Inauguration Weekend Jan. 20-22, 2017
Call to Action – Let’s build a nationwide United Front against Trump
By Communities and Postal Workers United & Community-Labor United for Postal Jobs and Services
The election of Donald Trump is dangerous for all working people, including and especially immigrants, people of color, women, LGBTQ people and the disabled. Postal workers and customers can expect stepped-up assaults on our public postal service.
A president Trump, coupled with Republican control of the House and Senate, raises the very real possibility of his appointment of a reactionary Postal Board of Governors seeking to further dismantle and privatize the USPS; an employer-friendly National Labor Relations Board which could reverse the gains of past years; a conservative Supreme Court hostile to public sector unions; and an anti-union, anti-worker Department of Labor. National “Right-to-Work” legislation, which would be a major blow to the labor movement, is a top priority of the new administration. This would hurt the growing national movement for $15 and a union.
A Trump presidency threatens the deportation of millions of undocumented workers; the exclusion, surveillance, profiling and incarceration of our Muslim sisters and brothers; major restrictions on women’s reproductive rights; the return of anti-LGBTQ laws; and increased harassment, brutalizing, and incarceration of Black and Brown people by local police departments. It threatens to support environmentally dangerous projects like the Dakota pipeline, and repression of the Indigenous Nations who are fighting it.
Tax cuts for the rich and even more funds to the military (making another war more likely) will be used to justify austerity, with deep cuts to Medicaid, Social Security, food stamps, education, housing and other programs that working people need to survive. The Trump victory has emboldened racist, sexist, homophobic and xenophobic predators who are intimidating and assaulting our most vulnerable residents.
Spontaneous “Not My President” demonstrations have erupted across the country immediately following the Trump election. Many student, labor, community and women’s groups are planning for massive protests on the weekend of Trump’s Inauguration, January 20-22, in Washington, D.C. and other cities.
To save our public postal service and living-wage, union postal jobs, we will need to help build a national United Front of all those threatened by the Trump presidency, in the spirit of An Injury to One is an Injury to All.
We will need to mobilize our networks, in collaboration with other labor, school, faith, community and women’s groups, to encourage and participate in organizing large and small actions leading up to and including Inauguration Weekend, as part of a nationwide united movement against Trump and all he represents.
All out for Inauguration Weekend, January 20-22, 2017!
I will be applauding the new President trump and pence

BULL COOKIES
take an employee poll and see how many want this protest. You may be surprised but most of us on the workroom floor are sick of the democrats and their do nothing workings. Most of us are willing to take a chance with Trump. Support him make him our friend dont attack him. Workers are getting so sick and tired of the union telling us how to vote. America needs a change and more then ever a lot of us support the outcome of the election. Befriend him maybe he will be labor friendly attack and protest him and why should he be.
I hope that all of you loyal Ratpublican workers don’t mind when you are screwed. As long as you can own a gun and do as you are told you are very happy. Why should rich people like Trump pay taxes when the middle class can? Now it is every man for him self. Survival of the fittest, as Herbert Spencer once said. If that is what you want go for it I am quite sure every one will do fine. If, however one falls to the side, tough! Oh and be sure that if you have any children just make sure that the tax payer pays for obligation. Parents shouldn’t have to pay for their children, tax payers can pay.
I guess they changed the lines – oh the whining liberals! Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are in a bar. Donald leans over, and With A smile on his face, says, “The media are really tearing you apart for That Scandal.” Hillary: “You mean my lying about Benghazi?” Trump: “No, the other one.” Hillary: “You mean the massive voter fraud?” Trump: “No, the other one.” Hillary: “You mean the military not getting their votes counted?” Trump: “No, the other one.” Hillary: “Using my secret private server with classified material to Hide my Activities?” Trump: “No, the other one.” Hillary: “The NSA monitoring our phone calls, emails and everything Else?” Trump: “No, the other one.” Hillary: “Using the Clinton Foundation as a cover for tax evasion, Hiring Cronies, And taking bribes from foreign countries? Trump: “No, the other one.” Hillary: “You mean the drones being operated in our own country without The Benefit of the law?” Trump: “No, the other one.” Hillary: “Giving 123 Technologies $300 Million, and right afterward it Declared Bankruptcy and was sold to the Chinese?” Trump: “No, the other one.” Hillary: “You mean arming the Muslim Brotherhood and hiring them in the White House?” Trump: “No, the other one.” Hillary: “Whitewater, Watergate committee, Vince Foster, commodity Deals?” Trump: “No the other one:” Hillary: “The IRS targeting conservatives?” Trump: “No the other one:” Hillary: “Turning Libya into chaos?” Trump: “No the other one:” Hillary: “Trashing Mubarak, one of our few Muslim friends?” Trump: “No the other one:” Hillary: “Turning our backs on Israel?” Trump: “No the other one:” Hillary: “The joke Iran Nuke deal? ” Trump: “No the other one:” Hillary: “Leaving Iraq in chaos? ” Trump: “No, the other one.” Hillary: “The DOJ spying on the press?” Trump: “No, the other one.” Hillary: “You mean HHS Secretary Sibelius shaking down health insurance Executives?” Trump: “No, the other one.” Hillary: “Giving our cronies in SOLYNDRA $500 MILLION DOLLARS and 3 Months Later they declared bankruptcy and then the Chinese bought it?” Trump: “No, the other one.” Hillary: “The NSA monitoring citizens’ ?” Trump: “No, the other one.” Hillary: “The State Department interfering with an Inspector General Investigation on departmental sexual misconduct?” Trump: “No, the other one.” Hillary: “Me, The IRS, Clapper and Holder all lying to Congress?” Trump: “No, the other one.” Hillary: “Threats to all of Bill’s former mistresses to keep them quiet” Trump: “No, the other one.” Hillary: “I give up! … Oh wait, I think I’ve got it! When I stole the White House furniture, silverware and China when Bill left Office?” Trump: “THAT’S IT! I almost forgot about that one”.
The union needs to wake up. We the blue collar workers are the very people that voted for Trump. In case you missed the last 8 year, we did not get much from the obama administration. I can’t wait until obama care is replaced, our borders are secured, common core is gone and the teachers can actually teach the kids again. Trump will Make America great again and the union officials need to have a meeting with Trump and see exactly what he will do. Also he has no problem with the LGBT community, so stop spreading lies. Thank God the workers voted their consciences rather than that crooked thief Hilary. She never helped anyone and never planed on it. When she is done with her recount bull there will be no Democratic Party.
You liberals are stupid and disgusting
i have lost so much respect for my union. Trump is the president work with him. Why start massive protests. The democrats have lost working class Americans. They do nothing for us. Time to embrace a new party and work with them by saying hey you have our votes. When i see adults protesting for a higher min wage I laugh. Have theese people accepted that working at mcdonalds or walmart is the best they can do in life. Its a job not a career for 15 year olds. There other complaints are just as laughable. In the last eight years the country has never been so divided. Health care way up etc. They count these min. wage jobs as careers. Give me a break i will roll the dice with new admin. and except consiquences whatever they may be its worth the gamble.
Messiah Trump goes to Washington
I agree 110%!
Once again it shows the liberal Democrats are very delusional they don’t know how to run anything in this country when they are in charge of things they run it right into the ground Alma craft employee I say go Trump so do a lot of us we don’t drink Kool-Aid like some of our fellow union members
I agree 110%
thanks for exposing urselves as anti american communists..i have been a apwu member for 24 years but after this anti american diatribe i will withdraw from the union at my soonest date possible..i am a fierce independent and strong supporter of our military and veterans..great u exposed the union as anti worker finally..carry on
Can somebody tell me how it is racist to want to see the presidents birth certificate?
Just what America, Jobs with low pay and few benefits! And all the wealth to the upper class. It will be very nice to work for very little and pay the taxes so the rich freeloaders can be like Trump. A man that brags about having the fools do all the work and pay all the taxes, while they live the life of the takers! Many hate the thought of paying for welfare, but don’t mind paying for wealthfare. Why should the businessmen pay for their costs of business when they can suck off the tax payer? Americans will find out how great things be when all the unions are gone. Be careful of what you wish for! Just think of how many people have been cheated out of their retirement and health benefits. But wait you want to work , no matter what happens to you. You trust some one that has filed for bankruptcy four times, taking money from many businessmen and workers! Time will tell how smart you are. Many will be left holding nothing.
If this doomsday scenario is the case then I need to work all the overtime I can instead of booking a trip to DC and burning annual leave!
Protesters are their own worst enemies. Sometimes, the protests have the opposite of their intended effect, and make otherwise sympathetic bystanders resent them. If these protesters get onto to the roads or interstates and prevent working people from getting to work on time, they harm their cause. If they come into a restaurant and chant while a family of modest means is trying to have a special occasion, they harm their cause.
If they want to accomplish something, be sure to respect the rights of others – no blocking traffic, no disrupting restaurants, etc. If the nurse can’t get to work because protesters are blocking traffic, she will not only detest the individual protesters, she may detest the cause that made her late for work.
I assume thsee professional protestor organizations will pay ALL the extra incurred expenses, transportation, hotel roomd, etc.,for all those, who wish to join them on a march in Retard-Washington,D.C? Or were enough total imbeciles created to volunteer to pay their own way?
I’m sure Trump and company will be shaking at the sight of another union rally. BTW- these rallies don’t accomplish anything, but good try Rolando and unions. Can’t wait to hear your spin on how you all backed Trump into a corner.
Democrats just lost both houses, the court and the presidency because of its lame identity politics and failure to have pro-growth policies that mean good jobs for ALL. It appears that this CPUW is just as much out of touch. What Trump wants to do will lead to 5% growth and this is what really SCARES the left. In 2018, when incomes begin to explode upward Republicans will get to 60+ in the senate. Democrats could lose 13 seats of the 23 they have up for reelection in 2018. They have shown they have learned nothing from the last election and continue to make the same mistakes. Keeping poor people poor and dependent is not longer a strategy the DEMS will win with. Working people are uniting behind Trump the builder.
what. a. legacy. that BHO has left to his folk.
the protest fence will keep you blocks/miles away from the festivities.
The only extremism is what we’ve been dealing with for the past eight years.
The majority finally did speak, and that is why Democrats were thrown into the ditch.
The whole article simply underlines all the reasons why I don’t belong to a union, and never will.
They are worried about ILLEGAL aliens being deported, yet they claim to be for American workers? Really, what kind of crap is that?
The Trump presidency will be one of pure chaos and dysfunction on a scale never before seen, even with the Republicans fully in charge. He will demand Congress suck up and kiss his ass, and they, whom already hate Trump’s guts anyway will not comply. We are afraid, very afraid, but there may be a silver lining, in that allowing the country to be run by the GOP will prove bad enough to truly galvanize the majority voters next time around, get a real charismatic and intelligent candidate out there who won’t be bullied, and will have the backbone and guts to punch out the GOP’s rich bastard racist’s lights out.
I think Elizabeth Warren would be dynamite. Sanders will probably not want to run as he will be that much older and tired, although we must never forget the enormous contributions he made in the name of real democratic philosophy, in the vein of Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
One man need not be successful as a tyrant. Trump’s “victory” is hollow, his personality is not enough to brainwash an entire nation except for the racists and evangelical dipshits, who are lost causes anyway, and there is no Gestapo or SS troops to do his bidding. He’s already reneged on most of his promises before he even gets in, demonstrating to his voters that he believes they are gullible, stupid and easily manipulated. In this area, I agree with him.
The old cliche that says it’s darkest before the dawn could apply. Extremism eventually eats its own and implodes on its irrationality and ignorance. Letting Donald Trump and the Republicans know they will not have a field day once sworn in will be a very good thing.
Dont breed…….liberal morons lol
Too late now, people had spoken. Please respect the democracy, which is the foundation this country build on.
its obvious you are brainwashed..this garbage of this article is mind boggiling to say the least..its a known fact the dems disdain for the military and vets shows front and center, and this article just reenforces with anti american garbage..8 years of Obama has made the USA weak and awash with PC nonsense…we will MAGA
To “just a craft employee”: Your heavily biased and obstructionist diatribe has but one statement with which a rational person could agree. When you state that “extremism eventually eats its own and implodes on its irrationality and ignorance”, you are on to something. The rest of your writing along with the reactions of the “progressive” left following the election are a vivid demonstration of those words in action. That’s the funny thing about your ilk. You folks are the very embodiment of the hateful accusations you make against those you obsess with opposing. Somehow you don’t see in the mirror what non-delusional people cannot miss.
You keep drinking that Kool-Aid typical liberal
