A former Dayton postal worker is alleged to have stolen more than 1,000 Netflix DVDs between May 5, 2012 and Dec. 18, 2012, according to a federal complaint.

Mark E. McCurry, then an employee of Dayton’s United States Postal Service, is accused of theft of mail matter by officer or employee. A complaint filed in Dayton’s U.S. District Court alleges McCurry took the DVDs and the “contents of numerous pieces of First Class Mail and Parcels” which were addressed to other people and companies.

The complaint said McCurry “knowingly embezzled, stole, abstracted and removed letters, packages, bags, mails, and any articles and things contained therein.” The maximum sentence for someone convicted of this crime is up to five years in prison.
