11/2/17 Dothan (WTVY)– The small Cowarts post office in Houston County was burglarized late Wednesday or early Thursday.

The Cowarts Post Office is closed following a burglary discovered November 2, 2017

“It appears that boxes rented by postal customers were victimized,” Houston County Sheriff’s Office Major Bill Rafferty said.

He referred additional questions to the U.S. Postal Service. An email seeking comment from the USPS wasn’t immediately answered.

Crime tape blocked the entrance to the building Thursday and a sign placed on the door stated it was closed.
