Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past 5 years or so, you’re aware that there are major problems going on at the post office. Saturday delivery seems to be continually on the chopping block.
If you are anything like me, you may have thought to yourself, “If the Post Office goes under, I’ll just ship things via UPS/FedEx. What’s the big deal?”
Turns out – it’s a very big deal. UPS (UPS) and FedEx (FDX) both rely on the Postal Service for a not-insignificant portion of their deliveries.
At UPS, for example, if you use their “Sure Post” service, packages will be delivered via UPS to your local post office, and then the mailman will take it the rest of the way. It’s a service the Postal Service calls “Parcel Select.”
FedEx does this as well – it’s called “Smart Post.” In fact, according to the Wall Street Journal, a third of their packages – or 2.2 million each day – are sent via the Postal Service. It’s a service the shipper calls “Smart Post.”
Yahoo Finance asked UPS about this relationship. UPS was quick to say it wasn’t as reliant on Unlce Sam as its rival FedEx.

So many never think the Blacks, and Minorities, will be the only people hurt by their ignorance. Early Pres. Reagan years a co-worker stated to me I’m going to vote Ronald Reagan because he’s going to get all those people off welfare. Well he was elected and come June her family receives a letter with the sad note due to the cutback on the public welfare receipients for housing assistance your mother assisted living will increase over $200.00 per month. Now due to the fact she also has personal property any monies not paid there will be forthcoming liens on the same, due to the passage of the cuts and available funds. Of course she forgot I was aware and approached me with the sad story, and I reminded my friend of her wishes months gone by. Away she stormed with discontentment towards me for my expert memory, and recall. Its not free, when you attempt to hurt one group in spite of the other, WELL?
And the sad thing is.. If you go to a UPS or Fed-Ex facility ( which both companies only have ONE per county ) to ship something. The counter persons don’t tell their customers that 40% of the time that it will be delivered by a USPS employee. They use a third party delivery service, US… And meanwhile charge that customer their rate note our rate.. Like I say to all my friends and family. We have so many locations and we have the lowest rates. Americans are fools not to use US!!!!!! But unfortunately the REPUBLICANS and DONUTHOLE see US as evil and really don’t give a shit about AMERICANS, BUSINESSES, and affordable shipping options.. So why question is????? WHY IN THE HELL WOULD ANY POOR OR MIDDLE – CLASS AMERICAN VOTE FOR ANY REPUBLICANS?????? They blocked every sensible bill that was in front of their eyes… The blocked minimum wage, student loan interest rates, shut the government down last year, Abortion, Education spending, Veteran benefits, etc….
