Mail discovered in Baltimore County storm drain

July 17, 2015 PARKVILLE, Md. Authorities are investigating how hundreds of pieces of mail ended up in a storm drain in Baltimore County.

Residents of Brightoak Road in the Parkville area were upset to learn about the ordeal.

“I’m looking at letters, I’m looking at magazines, I’m looking a coupons,” resident Bobby Phillips said.

“This is outrageous, actually. It really is. I mean this is the U.S. Mail, and it ends up in a storm drain?” resident George Miller said.

Looking down into the storm drain, it looked like letters behind bars, imprisoned mail that potentially includes someone’s long-awaited check, important medical records or other personal business.

  1. The carrier should have dumped in front of our current PMG’s door. He/she would have gotten a big promotion, as she/he helps USPS’ s willful self-sabotage of the letter-sized and flats operations. Perhaps, this carrier will surge to a District Manager?
