12/22/2019 OSAWATOMIE, Kan. — A United States Postal Service carrier might have just saved Christmas for some Miami County residents thanks to his quick thinking.
The Osawatomie Fire Department said around 11 a.m. the engine of a mail truck caught fire on West 399th Street and Plum Creek Road just south of Osawatomie, Kansas.
The Fire Department said the mail carrier was able to safely escape the truck and get all the packages out, too. The department said the mail carrier’s quick work saved Christmas for local residents, because the truck was full of Amazon deliveries and other important packages.

Great work on the part of the carrier. The part that i don’t understand is, How can USPS be handing out all these bonus’s . While the carriers are dealing with all these
fires all over the country. There seems to be a big disconnect involving common sense, and accountability. With reported loss’s for the last 13 years, and USPS wanted
to increase the cost of mailing costs in the near future. Why would anyone get a bonus while losing so much money?.
Because the American taxpayer is financing this boondoggle…. contrary to what Joey Corbett pontificates.
Any other entity would go bankrupt…. but the USPS has unlimited credit with the US Treasury…so the bonuses keep rolling in.
You are correct in your thinking. Their are many ideas of people out
of the loop. We are not talking about rocket science here. The simple
truth is USPS has allowed their leaders to run wild. They put their
friends, and relatives in place not caring about the outcome. It is like
many say, if you want a higher paying job. Just screw up something
on a big scale. The reward is to put you in charge of something even
more important. I hope that the good workers are spared, and those
with bad karma reap what they have sowed.
It looks like Trump may change the status quo once he gets his Postmaster General in place… the gravy train may come to an end.
