Kentucky Postal Worker Caught On Camera Throwing Packages

Jill and Tarry Smith installed video cameras at their home, not knowing they’d catch this: a US Postal worker throwing packages onto their driveway.

The postal worker was caught throwing packages on the homeowner’s drive-way Saturday morning. In the video, you can hear the packages hit the ground.

Jill checked the surveillance video when she found her packages strewn across the driveway.

“I was astounded,” she said. “I just ran and found my husband and I’m like ‘you have got to watch this.’ And pretty much put it on Facebook immediately just to see what the public response would be. Maybe I was overreacting. Not so much; we’ve got a pretty big response.”

  1. leave a parcel, customers complain – don’t leave parcel, leave a notice instead, customers complain

  2. Again, management’s fault and the reason why we need to stop Staples. Wonder why Diamondstein & Rolando didn’t comment on the video. Oh yeah…that’s right…they have to represent these loyal, hard working postal employees.

  3. Instant firing. As “Glorified Paper” puts it, this story is getting old — and people are sick of their packages being mishandled. More power to the news for trying to put an end to this. There needs to be instant job loss if the carrier cannot or is unwilling to perform duties outlined in their training. I assure you that during delivery training there was NEVER a demonstration on how to chuck a box, regardless of the box contents. Poor, lazy workers. Those who make excuses for them are of the same ilk. A 3849 should have been filled out and placed in the box. Simple.

  4. I’m sure the shirt didn’t break. Packages are “thrown” all the time, by ALL the delivery companies.

This story is getting old. Find something else to complain about…

  5. Whether the packages were damaged or not is beside the point. No professional carrier, city or rural, should be throwing parcels on the driveway. If a dog was out, a 3849 should have been left in the mailbox.
I know that CCAs are under constant pressure and take inappropriate shortcuts, but, don’t blame them for everything. The fact that the carrier was driving a civilian vehicle suggests that the carrier is rural. Without trying to bad-mouth all rurals, the fact is that they get to go home when they are done. That can easily lead to the kind of short cut depicted in the video.

  6. Impact not severe enough to damage boxes, shouldn’t have been enough to damage contents…these people’s 15 seconds of fame. I wonder if there was a dog or dogs loose on the property since the garage door was open.

  7. It delivered in 1 piece, what more could you ask for? Got your 15′ of fame, happy now?

  8. If you look closely at the Vehicle he or she probably works for the Postal Service
but is a Clerk carrier Associate lower paying position in the postal service.
