A mail carrier was the victim of an armed robbery Tuesday afternoon, police said.
The U.S. Postal Service worker was delivering on the 200 block of Laurel Avenue around 4:30 p.m. when he was approached by two men who displayed a gun and demanded money, said Capt. Michael Marucci of the Maplewood police.
The suspects took a phone and cash and then fled east on Laurel Avenue, Marucci added.
The mail carrier was unharmed, the captain said. The police were called at 4:51 p.m., authorities said.
