Mail carrier robbed of mailbox keys in North Miami by 2 men

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. (WSVN) — A female mail carrier was robbed by two men early Thursday afternoon.

The U.S. Postal Service said the carrier was unlocking a community mailbox at an apartment complex at 1050 N.E. 127th Court in North Miami when two men approached her and took her keys, along with the master key.

They said the two men walked up behind her, at around 11 a.m. One man then grabbed her and put her in a chokehold while the other grabbed the keys from her before fleeing the area. “Post lady was delivering the mail and when she opened her box, two guys came up behind her,” said resident Steve Lucsky. “Grabbed her around the neck and the other one grabbed the keys.”

Lucsky added, “I heard a noise. I don’t know if it was one of the kids or her yelling. That’s when I looked up and seen them running, running down 10th ave. and took off north.”
