Mail carrier shot in back while delivering mail in Texas – $50,000 reward offered for info on suspect

HOUSTON, Texas — A U.S. Postal Service mail carrier was shot as he was delivering mail early Saturday afternoon in a Spring Branch Woods neighborhood.

Neighbors on Cedardale St. said they heard four gunshots. No one directly witnessed the shooting, but when they looked out their windows, they said they saw the carrier trying to drag himself along the sidewalk.

“He had blood on his back,” said one woman who asked she not be identified. “He was calling for help and told us he couldn’t feel his legs.”

He was still conscious, according to neighbors who came to his aid. Houston police investigators said the victim was shot twice, once in the back and once in the lower abdomen. More at

  1. The shootings would have never happened at all if people weren’t allowed to cuddle their gun everywhere. Guns should be kept home! I notice some states, in the “great south” try to restrict voting rights while saying nothing about restrictions on guns. Certain people shouldn’t vote, while everyone needs to hug guns .

    • You are correct that the only protection for the good is for some good
person to stand their ground for them. This bs about guns being the problem is way off point. Every breath I breath is through a lung that had a bullet a quarter an inch from my heart. unlike the uninformed statements of some. Take all the guns, and the risk of violence stays the same. The thing that matters is common sense, and civility, and my stepfather taught me at least 5 decades ago.

  2. They would never be able to confiscate all the guns. If you take them from the law abiding citizens, then only the criminals will be armed. That would put us in one hell of a bind! Try doing SOMETHING about mental illness, which seems to be where most of the shooters come from!

  3. Shootings everyday, everyplace. Churches, stores, freeways, schools, workplaces, and hospitals. In Chicago a small child was shot on Christmas eve while sleeping. What does the Federal government do? Nothing, they are too busy protecting the gun huggers!
