11/27/2020 It’s ‘Priority Yule’ as Post Offices gear up for the holiday rush
Households should not be alarmed if they hear postal mail carriers delivering as early as 5:00 a.m., starting the Friday after Thanksgiving. The clatter and jangle so familiar this time of year is just your letter carrier getting an early start on the heavy package volume projected for this holiday season.
To keep our promise to make it a ‘Priority Yule’ and deliver the best holiday for everyone, our carriers will be out making early morning deliveries in many communities throughout the Bay-Valley postal district.
As the rush of the Holiday season gains momentum, the Postal Service needs to keep pace with it. When it comes to moving packages during the holiday it is Priority Yule! Whether it’s a lump of coal in a sock or a brand-new sled, you can count on the Postal Service to provide the critical lift for Santa!”
The holiday is always about people sending their best in greeting cards and gifts to extended family and friends. Because we will still be affected by the pandemic, it is hard to determine what that best might be, but rest assured we will deliver our best in providing certainty and continuity during the holiday, and that means starting early in the morning.
The Bay-Valley District includes the East Bay, north to Napa, East to Fairfield, the South Bay, including San Jose to King City and the coast from Big Sur to Santa Cruz.
