JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – If some of your mail doesn’t show up for the holidays, a fiery wreck involving a U.S. Postal Service truck in Gainesville may explain why.
The crash happened about 3:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Interstate 75 two miles south of Newberry Road, according to Gainesville Fire Rescue.
Firefighters answering calls from that location found a pillar of smoke spewing into the air and a U.S. mail truck and a cargo trailer engulfed in flames, the fire department said. Read more
