  1. Letter carriers put their lives on the line on a daily basis just as police officers do. We face adversarial people and situations daily. One exception-we don’t have firearms or anything else to protect ourselves. Even though our work atmosphere is not as confrontational as police officers or other first responders it still does not exclude the fact that we are subjective to harm. If not already then law needs to be written that letter carriers are protected with the “1st degree” murder mandate as police officers. A life is a life the uniform being worn should not make a difference!!!!!
