Massachusetts USPS Supervisor charged with taking bribes from tow company operators

10/11/18 SPRINGFIELD — A former maintenance supervisor for the U.S. Postal Service has been charged with bribery and witness tampering in U.S. District Court.

Kenneth LaFlamme, 54, formerly of Springfield, now of Fort Myers, Florida, is scheduled to for arraignment on Oct. 29 in connection with shaking down two local tow company operators for bribes between 2015 and 17, according to court records.

LaFlamme was once the supervisor of the vehicle maintenance facility in Springfield and had sole discretion over which private tow companies were paid to tow disabled postal trucks, the charges say

The records also say soon after LaFlamme became the supervisor for the maintenance facility in 2015, he began demanding $5 per tow from Businessmen 1 and 2.

“Approximately two months later, LaFlamme agreed to accept from Businessman 2 a set payment of $200 per week if Business 2 towed 30 or more vehicles in that week. However, Laflamme did not alter the bribe rates for Businessman 1 and his company,” the charging document reads.

  1. WOW, what is it with these USPS workers in Mass. ? It seems like every week you hear of another crook up there doing something stupid? It seems Mass. has more than their share of crooks and criminals working at the USPS! I hope the whole state isn’t like that??

  2. Now he will be promoted to higher level. He should be demoted to a CCA. Then he could live the good life. It’s time for management to find out what it’s like to work like a trained circus animal instead of taking the day easy!
