10/9/18 HAZELWOOD • A woman who worked at a U.S. mail facility in Hazelwood stole items from the mail and shipped them to her home and the home of her daughter, another postal employee, a federal indictment claims.
Both Tracey C. Pitre, 50, of Hazelwood, and her daughter Krystal Pitre, 27, of Florissant, are due in court Wednesday to plead not guilty to charges of conspiracy to steal mail by a postal employee, mail theft and obstruction of the mails.
Their indictment, filed Sept. 27, says that from about Jan. 1 (2018) through July 1, (2018) Tracey Pitre would take “articles” from mail at the Hazelwood Network Distribution Center and ship them to herself or her daughter, postage-free. The pair would then use the stolen items, give them to relatives or sell them, the indictment says.
