In all offices, CCAs who have at least 30 months of relative standing on 9/1 to be converted to career status

NALC and USPS have settled a national level grievance regarding CCAs hired over the contractual caps. This settlement (M-01892) provides that all city carrier assistants in all size offices with 30 months of relative standing on September 1, 2018 will be converted to career status within 60 days from the signing of the agreement on July 27, 2018.  CCAs meeting this criteria in 200 workyear offices or larger will be converted to full-time regular and CCAs meeting this criteria in all other offices will be converted to part-time flexible. All CCAs converted to career status in accordance with this settlement will be converted within their current installation.

NALC projects this settlement will result in over 5,000 CCA conversions to career status, including approximately 3,500 conversions to part-time flexible in smaller offices.

  1. If the nalc wouldn’t have screwed up the cca position to start with this wouldn’t be an issue. Nalc caved because they were promised 30,000 cca’s at the time the position was created. Which means that many more possible members. Fred and co didn’t care if they got benefits or not

  2. they would be better off with UPS/FDX/AMZN. the doom of gloom hangs over this place like SFO fog!

  3. It’s amazing how the Postal Service never talks about Sexual Misconduct. I wonder why? They have no service talks. They don’t fire the predators but bring them back with pay. Some predators are either place right back on the floor with the victim or victims. Some are even moved so they abuse more victims. Amazing that no one has reported on the decades of Sexual Misconduct at the Postal Service. Amazing. I hear from victims at least once a month to scared to speak up living in fear they will loose their job. Sad

  4. Now the carriers that blame the union over the CCA’s can now stop crying about how the union created the CCA mess. Remember, CCA’s were created by an arbitrator. The next big war will be to preserve the Postal Service and the jobs and benefits! President Dump wants to destroy the Service and turn the Postal Service into a slavemart type of private co. One will be able to work for free and with very little benefits. That is just what the Dump voters want! Especially the Postal workers that voted for MR. wonderful.

  5. Let’s see, about 50% of CCAs quit within first few months. These stayed. Sounds like a basket of deplorable leftovers who can’t find a job anywhere else.
