The House and Senate Leadership in concert with congressional allies of the federal workforce are working to secure “hazard pay” for frontline federal employees in danger of being exposed to COVID-19. Senate Democratic Leader Charles Schumer sent a letter to President Trump urging that the President issue an Executive Order to give hazard pay to all federal workers in harms way (Link to article).
NAPS is deeply engaged with the congressional leadership, in conjunction with NAPS House and Senate allies to ensure that frontline postal employees will also be eligible for “hazard pay.” NAPS has also been working with postal policy-makers to make sure tto hat the Postal Service has access to personal protective equipment and sanitization products to safeguard its employees from COVID-19.
In addition, NAPS communicated to all congressional offices its strong support of H.R. 6425, legislation introduced by Rep. Joe Neguse (D-CO) to provide $25 billion in emergency appropriations for the USPS to help sustain the agency through the COVID-19 pandemic. NAPS members should urge their representatives to support the bill.
And NAPS….. please put a muzzle on that fat SOB David Williams. He’s the one that’s overpaid.
Custodians need to be included in the hazard or hero’s pay because they disinfect & clean all areas of the Post Office that serves the public. In addition nobody knows who is infected with the virus that ulitize our service!
The best thing that can happen is for us to run out of money in June. Trump giving us money is like giving dope to a junkie. The first lay offs will be management, they will eat their own and cut each other’s throats to keep their jobs. The ones sitting at home now are most at risk. Can’t wait!
Man…. I hope you’re wrong, for I’m really riding this gravy train now….10 hours a day and seven days a week…. I’m pulling in more than the plant manager right now…. just hope I survive!!!
I work in the Middleses-Essex P&DC in North Reading, Ma. There are three confirmed cases of the Covid-19 in my office. One worker whose wife is in the hospital with it came to work and completed his shift before telling anyone he had been directly exposed. The fellow workers of the three positive cases were never told to self quarantine. We are told daily to report to work as usual. This is extremely stressful to all of us. My husband’s immune system is compromised due to radiation treatments for cancer. The is all that is on my mind every day and every second that I have to be at work. Something has to change in order to protect the workers.
Give it a rest NAPS….it will never happen… Congress thinks we’re overpaid anyway…. even one of our own David Williams, testified to the arbitrators of this fact.
You know that NAPS do nothing.
They should be fired, not rewarded with more
blood money.
Go away you tools.
You had better believe that our “great” leader is against this idea. Though he did everything he could to see that his farmer pals received their farm price subsidizes. One farmer in Bay County Mi. bragged about receiving $80,000 in hand outs of tax payer funds! Our pal won’t reopen the Affordable Health Care open season for the laid off. These Americans don’t need health care.
The Craft Employees(who do all the work) should have been receiving
hazard pay all along for working for these toolbag nappies who are
trying to wrangle more money for themselves. These nappies are evil,
immoral, unethical unhuman beings who lie and cheat their way through
life. Dump them all. Save the PO.
Maintenance work are the ones left to disinfect the building thank you
