USPS investigators learned that the mail carrier had resigned Sept. 8.
“We do not anticipate any further action against this individual,” Special Agent Scott Balfour told the paper Wednesday. “The Roxborough Station Post Office is going to deliver the mail.”
Authorities did not say what might have led the ex-employee to dump hundreds of letters.

The job is called “Mail” man..not UPS man…Let the UPS man try to deliver all the missorted letters and 3rd and fourth bundles while being Amazon’s delivery boy..Let the USPS stick with MAIL!!!
Everything can be automated but the carrier job. The poor soul that bears the physical brunt of the last leg of the job deserves commensurate pay and benefits. Of all those employed by the Postal Service, the job of the carrier is the most demanding and important.
I recognize the grueling task of the carrier who is constantly pressured to do more for less. Lazy carrier? That’s an oxymoron.
this is what happens when management treats it’s employees like slaves. If postal employees don’t like being treated like dirt why did 68% of postal employees vote for Mr. Bankruptcy? Didn’t they know, or care, that their hero hates workers? working conditions will only get worse. just wait till the Postal Service is privatized. Then kiss your retirement and health care good by! Don’t worry though, you can always get a job in a coal mine or factory. Work and pay taxes while our “great” leader avoids paying taxes. The New York Times story dated 10/03/18 spans eight pages, 15,000 words tells on how he avoided paying taxes! Those that voted for Mr. bankruptcy know that was a “wise” decision!

the union is like a lion with no teeth and no claws. Who’s afraid of it when you can’t strike to back up your dissatisfaction with mistreatment service wide? No one is afraid, not the Post Office. The poor craft worker is basically left on their own.

Doubt it!! That happened on several occasions over the 30 yrs in my office, no one got their job back. Thats what they tell you when you start, dont steal it, dont throw it away and you’ll have a job forever.
My only advice to anyone is this: “if you have a job at the Postal Service even if you are what they call “a manager“: do not think of it as a real job. Do not take on any responsibility mortgages, family, wife, even car loans… Although you will probably need a car to get to your so-called job. The mail is gone forever and what was once a bad job Is now a horror story.

Carrier turnover rate is what? Up to 60% in some jobs? Basically RCA are treated as transient labor pool material. Like RCA’s are the homeless on court assigned community service. Really sad that they are exempt from minimum wage, paid federal holidays, accruing seniority or whatever else benefit any McDonald’s burger cook would receive.
USPS is running a sweat shop! Having RCA’s on call 24/7 without boundaries or compensation. Being abused by regulars constantly.
In this case, Post office got treated exactly the way they treat employees. With no respect.

This employee probably has a high school (or GED equivalent) education, so this is what you can expect when you hire.
