Springfield’s new postmaster is facing DUI charges. Philip Geraci was arrested for DUI Sunday night around 8:45 in Springfield, after reportedly getting into a car accident.
According to the booking report, police smelled a “strong odor” of alcohol on his breath, and said Geraci had bloodshot eyes. He reportedly failed all field sobriety tests.
Geraci has been released from the Sangamon County Jail on bond.
He was sworn in as Springfield’s postmaster in May.
