BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A former postal worker in Buffalo won’t spend any more time behind bars after he pleaded guilty to a bribery charge.
Dennis Bernhard, 56, of Derby, has been sentenced to time served, plus one year of post release supervision. He will spend the next three months under home confinement.
Prosecutors say Bernhard used and abused his role as a postal carrier to help move contraband, which they say was marijuana.
Bernhard worked at the now closed Eastside Post Office in Buffalo. He was arrested about three years ago after prosecutors accused him of providing false addresses drug traffickers could send boxes of marijuana too. He then, according to officials, intercepted the boxes and delivered them to those operating in a drug ring.
