Youngstown, OH, Letter Carrier Gina Mowen was on her route when she approached a house and heard a woman inside, screaming for help. Mowen entered the home and found a woman with a bloodied nose and an injured leg.

The woman was coherent but unable to tell Mowen how long she had been hurt. Mowen called 911 and stayed with the woman until paramedics arrived and took her to the emergency room.

The woman’s daughter-in-law later called the Post Office to thank Mowen for her quick and compassionate response.
