These include changes to premium rates for Option A (most age bands), Option B (most age bands), Option C (most age bands), and Post-Retirement Basic Insurance. These rates will be effective the first pay period beginning on or after January 1, 2016.

The effective date for employees in active pay status who make an Open Season election would be delayed one full year to October 1, 2017, subject to FEGLI law and regulation, including applicable pay and duty status
requirements.

Premium rates for Basic Employee insurance will not change at this time. These rates will be effective the first pay period beginning on or after January 1, 2016.

  1. I do not believe that anyone will send you guys in waiting an e-mail. So, I would suggest that you get in touch with your local MNGT., whom may not know anything, if not you better do your own contacting and/or download forms. However you may have to go online and apply. One thing for certain is don’t set on your hands waiting because you may or may not get any notice. Good luck I have had the coverage for over 30 years.

  2. The rate change starts in January of 2016 but the open season is in September of 2016? Just making sure the dates are correct so I don’t miss out on the open season this time. Also would like any post retirement insurance info you can send me. Thank you in advance.
