Pennsylvania postal worker ejected from delivery vehicle in crash

(October 29, 2014) MILTON, PA — A mailman sustained moderate injuries after being ejected from his delivery truck during a two-vehicle crash that occurred at 10:21 a.m. Monday along Broadway Road, at its intersection with Ridge Road, Turbot Township, Northumberland County.

Police said the crash occurred as a 1991 U.S. Mail Delivery vehicle driven by Jason Rauch, 40, of New Columbia, was stopped to make a left-hand turn onto Ridge Road when it was struck from behind by a 2003 Saturn Ion driven by Amie Laidacker, 48, of Milton. Rauch, a rural carrier associate, was ejected from the mail truck and thrown over an embankment. He was taken to Geisinger Medical Center, and no condition report is available yet.

Laidacker sustained minor injuries and Milton State Police say she will face charges of careless driving.
