An Export man who stole more than $13,000 from the Rural Valley post office when he was postmaster there faces two and a half years of probation, including six months of house arrest, following his sentencing today.
Lawrence F. Stoken III, 47, pleaded guilty to misappropriation of postal funds.
“So, you get along well?” U.S. District Judge David S. Cercone asked Tammy Stoken, the defendant’s wife.
“Yes,” she answered.
“Good, because he’s going to be in the house a lot for the next six months,” the judge said.
The judge allowed Stoken to leave the house to work his new job, cleaning drains.
