TOWANDA, PA – Kids usually play with toy-sized trucks, but on Sunday in Towanda they were able to have fun with the real deal.

All kinds of trucks were parked on the field at the Bradford County Airport for the “Touch a Truck” event.

The children did much more than touch the trucks – they climbed inside and sat in the driver’s seats, they put their hands on the steering wheels, and they beeped the horns of the trucks.

“They love it, they go crazy, their eyes light up,” said Alacia White, a North Towanda volunteer firefighter who was helping the kids at the event. She said the kids laugh and giggle and “they’re just in awe” of the trucks.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bradford County, serving Bradford and Sullivan counties, Tioga County, Pa., and Tioga County, N.Y., was putting on the fundraising event.

A wide array of trucks and other vehicles were on display for the kids to see: fire trucks, a postal truck, a pink breast cancer awareness skid steer owned by the Watson family from Columbia Cross Roads, police vehicles, and many more.
