According to the Garrison Volunteer Fire Company in Garrison, New York :

On Wednesday, September 9, 2015  a call came in at 11:31 a.m. to report a motor vehicle accident at 141 South Mountain Pass near Marit Lane and Webb Terrace.

A Post Office truck delivering the mail moved over to accommodate an oncoming car and slid into a ditch. When Garrison Fire Department arrived at the scene the driver did not want to leave vehicle fearing it would continue down the embankment.  But after postal truck was secured with ropes and tied to large trees the driver was able to climb out. The Continental Village Fire Department responded in mutual aid and a postal representative arrived to secure the mail. When a tow truck arrived its heavy equipment and chains were used to get postal truck back on the road.
