PMG Brennan delivers first video message
Investing in employees will help the Postal Service meet the nation’s changing delivery needs, PMG Megan Brennan says.
“We need to provide you with greater flexibility to resolve problems and improve the way we operate,” Brennan says in her first video message to employees since becoming PMG Feb. 1.
The Postal Service’s priorities include training and development, and doing a better job leveraging employees’ skills and ideas, Brennan says.
Other priorities include investing in data and technology, along with pilot projects to develop new products and services.
Additionally, USPS will repurpose space to support its growing shipping services and invest in new package-sorting equipment and vehicles.
“We need to have a continuous improvement mindset,” Brennan says. “We have to do this to compete for today’s customers — and we have to anticipate the needs of tomorrow’s customers.”
Moving forward also means pursuing new business opportunities, including delivering groceries and other products and expanding same-day and Sunday delivery services.
“I tell everyone that we’re the best delivery company in the world. We are because of you — and we’re going to stay that way,” the PMG says.

I’m a retired (thankfully) rural carrier and I remember when we first started delivering parcels for the competition. I had to wonder how much upper management received under the table to make that stupid decision.
We should run the Post Office like a business like FedEx and UPS but keep our upper hand by being alittle cheaper than them and keep every door delivery.
How are you going to do all these things when you just stabbed all our customers in the back by eliminating overnight delivery???? Now you want to raise the postage?? Invest in more worthless machines??? Give us a break lady!!
I have been a letter carrier for 27 yrs. We are not UPS. We hit every house every day. It’s turned into a young man’s job! Scanning over 50 times a day does not make me a better carrier! It only makes me more frustrated and angry. Those in management went into it because they know working in all kinds of bad weather with no support from management sucks. Your plan of c.c.a.’s backfired. That’s why you can’t offer an early out to carrier’s that would qualify. I would never allow my kids to enter this career. You will cut our pay, benefits and pension in the near future. I have worked
under Post masters that have had drug problems & poor social skills. They couldn’t handle the demands of delivering mail so they resorted to management. Probably like yourself. I know I sound bitter but that is only because of all the hell that you people put me through. Those 3996 forms should be burned! They only give management the right to harass the carrier. I personally think we are done as an institution due to the administration at the top level.
I wish she would get out and surprise visit some of the plants and see how nasty and disorganized they are, at least they are in Birmingham Al.
