*Updated with Video* PMG discusses Election Mail, packages in latest video

pmgbusThe Postal Service will be ready for the surge in election-related mail during the next two weeks, PMG Pat Donahoe says in his latest video message to employees. (note: external video will be added later)

“We can expect to see heavy volume right up until Election Day. So we’ve got to stay with it,” Donahoe says.

It’s especially important to meet the expectations of customers who vote by mail, the PMG says. “We need to make sure that the ballots are getting through and they are being delivered to the election authorities in a timely manner,” he says.

The PMG also discusses why it’s important for the Postal Service to handle packages properly. “We’ve got to make sure we’re treating every package with the respect that a customer expects to be their shipper of choice. This is our future.”

Additionally, the video includes comments from several Edison, NJ, Customer Care Center employees, who discuss complaints they receive about left notices or improperly scanned mailpieces. “These issues are things we can easily fix by working together to improve the overall customer experience,” the PMG says.

The video concludes with the PMG thanking employees for doing a great job and asking for their help “as we enter our season — the holiday season.”

  1. The following are statements, not excuses. Trucks were late, plants slammed all work on last trucks, extra heavy day. Possibly lousy weather. Bunches of registered mail and certified mail……6 political mailings 3 of which are sorted backwards, 2 box holders.

Oh, by the way, no excuses, be back by dispatch.

Sometimes carriers are caught between the devil and the deep blue sea.

A safe shortcut is scan all articles for a street at once….99% of customers will tell carrier that they are fine with prescanning….They just want the package by the end of the day. Carriers know customers and customers know carriers.

There is always another side to a story……USPS is the most trusted federal entity not because of customer centers or scannable items. It is the local carrier and clerk who are trusted by customers.

The PMS may want to dig deeper and find why these “unacceptable” situations with scans occur.

  2. You better be a team playing butt boy if you want to climb the ladder. And I agree with TSP – what do you mean “we”, Donahoe? Don’t play buddy buddy with us. You really must think you’re something by God extra special, with all those mandatory videos you force us to watch that nobody listens to, and in fact make fun of all the way through. Your ego is out of control, the size of a western state, but your capabilities are easily gathered on the head of a pin.

  3. political mail makes all the supervisors crap their pants here because someone “lost” political mail a few years back.

  4. THE P.M.G. IS A COMPLETE BUFFOON. ALL HE WANT,FOR SOME UNKNOWN REASON, IS TO DESTROY THE POSTAL SERVICE. WHY ELSE WOULD HE DO SUCH STUPID THIGS? HE HE COMPLETELY RETARTED? PROBABLY. BUT, THERE IS A HIDDEN AGENDA THIS JACKASS HAS. THER HAS TO BE A WAY WE CAN RID THE POSTAL SERVICE OF THIS INCOMPATANT FK.

  5. FOr a guy who’s plan to cut service to everyone else , he sure sucking up to Congress and it’s Supreme Court sanctioned Big Business Gifts to their lackeys !

  6. “hope on board, be a team player, lets win one for the Gipper”….I know Chihuahuas with more rah-rahs than this turkey.

  7. What’s with the “we” bs, donuthole.

The only thing you’re interested in, like all mgmt., is destroying the USPS, for your own personal profit.

  8. Why sure, we’ll help you, Mr. Donahoe! What do you want? Would you like us to stay out until 8:00 or later every night and suffer more murders and assaults? Would you like us to cover your ass and try to defend your intention to destroy the USPS by reducing standards to our customers who are already pissed off? Would you like us to run run run, skip breaks, lunches and subject ourselves to the abuse of your management without complaint? Would you like us to help you destroy our representation by the unions by voting for candidates who want to break up all unions? Or maybe there’s something I missed somewhere. By the way, these are softball questions you should be able to answer “yes” to without having to exert any undue mental strain.
