PMG Megan Brennan’s latest “Business Focus” video was released May 1.

May 1, 2015 The Postal Service continues making investments for the future, including plans for new delivery vehicles, PMG Megan Brennan says in her latest video message.

Fifteen companies are competing to build the vehicles, which are slated to debut in 2017.

“These vehicles will be designed with increased cargo space and improved access to facilitate both the loading and the removal of packages and mail,” Brennan says. “It will also have improved overall safety features and better fuel economy.”

The PMG also discusses plans to complete the rollout of 225,000 Mobile Delivery Devices in the fall, along with new Retail Systems Software that better integrates with mobile Point of Sale (mPOS) devices and self-service kiosks.

Additionally, the PMG reports USPS is deploying 31 new small-package sorting machines, including 21 that will be up and running by the holidays.

“This will increase our processing capacity and improve overall efficiency,” she says.

Other topics include new incentives to encourage businesses to send mail, the Postal Service’s ongoing testof larger mailboxes that can accommodate bigger packages, and this year’s Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, which will be Saturday, May 9.

  1. on the outside it makes sense on what she discussed, but as long as you have uneducated, unresponsive, unfeeling station managers and 204b’s running the ship, just forget about it. a lot of small stations can run just fine without supervisors. us senior carriers know just have are mail ready when we walk in the door we know what to do. it’s the front line supervisors who are ass backwards. just go ask a city letter carrier that has a 100% walking route in the inner city and they can tell you what is really happening, customer service and quality have been thrown out the door.

  2. Liar just like Donawhore, management and their union busting lawyers have not been negotiating with the APWU and are indifferent, Dimondstein will not sign off on another giveaway contract and allow the ignorant APWU membership the chance to screw themselves again, so it’s on to arbitration. GO APWU!

  3. Are you kidding me. We are working toward a negotiated contract with the American Postal Workers Union? There is no way that this contract does not go to Arbitration unless the American Postal Workers wants to give away the farm.
