Pocatello postal workers face “involuntary reassignment”

Pocatello postal workers face “involuntary reassignment”The initial report on employee impacts at Pocatello CSMPC processing center was 57 craft, 5 management. Salt Lake City would gain 26 craft positions, 8 management. These figures may have changed since last year.

statement from Brian Sperry, regional spokesman for USPS

…Only the mail processing operation is moving to Salt Lake City and… the building at 1750 Flandro will remain open as a Post Office, transportation hub and bulk mail entry unit.

POCATELLO, Idaho – Several postal workers at Pocatello’s Flandro Drive processing center tell Local News 8 they received letters Thursday warning of possible “involuntary reassignment” to other positions within the postal service.

Local News 8 has been unable to confirm how many workers this will affect, but the Idaho State Association of Letter Carriers said it’s part of a plan to close the processing center and redirect mail to Salt Lake City.

The center is scheduled to close on April 18, at which time the Flandro Drive location will become a regular post office.

The postmaster has not responded to Local News 8’s phone call.

  1. come to NYC plenty of jobs….new letter carrier quit rate is 50% after 6 weeks. $57,800 in NYC has same purchasing power in fly over country of about $25,000, but you can pitch a tent in central park to keep expense’s down. lol po mismanagers are all 3rd world diversity types……….you think you are working for the United Nations. NYPD cops base after 5 years is $140,000…..they have a real union. want to see how the poor live, just take a postal job in NYC.

  2. That’s nothing in comparison to my district, I can turn 5 managers to 16 with just a single mouse click.

  3. Those employees should ecstatic!!! If working for any other company they would be terminated. These people will have the option of moving on with their career or finding another job. They should be grateful the PO is taking good care of them!

  4. If it only impacts 5 managers, how does Salt Lake City gain 8 management positions,
Are the ones in Pocatella so good that 5 can turn into 8, Management is still amazing
