Police arrest New Mexico postal worker for DWI after delivery truck crash

RIO RANCHO, NM (WFLA/CNN) – A postal worker in New Mexico is facing charges after police say he drove drunk while making deliveries and crashed his truck.

Body camera video shows police in Rio Rancho responding to the crash involving 28-year-old Kevin Brown last week.

When officers got to the scene, Brown told them he crashed his marked USPS truck in a yard because he was trying to avoid a rock.

“I lost control of the truck and it went that way,” Brown said. “I went to swerve and avoid the rock.”

Brown told police he was wearing his seatbelt, but neighbors say they saw him fall out of the truck after the crash.

The driver also claimed he didn’t have any alcohol. But police say he refused to take a breath test and had trouble with the field sobriety tests. When they asked him to perform the tests, he asked, “what if I’m dyslexic?”
