Post Office in North Dakota to replace flagpole after complaint

3/11/16 A new flagpole has been put on work order for the Spiritwood post office following a complaint Tuesday.

George Quigley, Spiritwood, said that the Spiritwood post office flagpole is close enough to the building that the flag touches the roof of the building when at half-staff. He noticed the problem on Monday, a day after President Barack Obama ordered flags at half-staff at all federal buildings until the burial of former first lady Nancy Reagan, who diedon Sunday.

It (the flag) was practically laying on the building,” Quigley said. β€œIt should not be touching anything else. It is disrespected and is no different than standing on it.”

Quigley, who is a ride captain in the North Dakota Patriot Guard, said the post office, which operates on limited hours, was closed at noon and so he took the matter into his own hands. Quigley said he raised the flag up the 30-foot flagpole and lowered it to 10 feet from the top

  1. A ride captain for the North Dakota Patriot Guard is a phony, made-up position for a phony, made-up organization. The Patriot Guard, and other wacko militia groups, use their phony, made-up patriotism to justify doing as they damn well please. Their credo seems to be patriotism though anarchy.
