Megan Brennan was sworn in on Thursday, March 6, 2015 as the first female postmaster general at the Postal Service. Brennan received the honor in an installation ceremony in Washington D.C.
“USPS will embrace change and aggressively pursue new business opportunities”, said Postmaster General Brennan.
“The story of the Postal Service is really about change. It’s about an organization that is continually changing and improving to better serve the American public.”
Brennan seeks to provide employees with more flexibility and better tools to serve customers. Brennan also called for new investment in infrastructure and improved operational efficiencies through better use of data and technology.
The Postal Service will also repurpose facilities, improve processes, and invest in new vehicles and package sorting equipment, Brennan said.
Other priorities include using analytics to help grow the package business and developing strategies to improve customer service.
Brennan, the first woman to serve as post master general, said she’s witnessed “tremendous improvement” in the Postal Service over the years and cited employees as the source of the organization’s resilience.
“When I visit our facilities and meet with employees, I see it everywhere and at every level, and it’s the strength of our organization. We have an incredibly talented and dedicated workforce, and this should give us all confidence in our future,” said Brennan.
Couldn’t have said it any better Moe!!
hey wait one minute-that is pat donehoe in a wig trying to double dip. IOD first 6 months on the job……that’s my kind of girl!
Reading these comments about how wonderful the workers are is something you better take with more than a grain of salt. You better have a salt lick. Anytime you hear such talk means an aggressive campaign of harassment and bullying is probably in the near future. It also is no coincidence this flowery talk goes on while the USPS tries to screw the APWU in their contract negotiations.
Be wary, those who think we couldn’t have done any worse than Donahoe – Brennan is his protege and followed him from day one. You know there are some dirty deals going on behind this appointment, like making sure the Postal Inspection Service or the GAO doesn’t investigate the cyber attacks last fall, or does a half ass job of it. That may be thwarted though as the FBI supposedly was looking into it, too. But I don’t expect any action to be taken.
Brennan should, if she is sincere about how wonderful we craft workers are, should fire every supervisor in the Seattle district who were running a terror campaign for years and finally got the attention of the Department of Justice. They’re all still in high level positions, which shows you the PMG has no intention or interest in stopping workroom floor abuse. Hell, just look at her. A pit bull wearing a dress. More of the same, folks.
“Were an indispensable part of the American economy and the everyday lives of the nation”.Then why are you continuing to tear it down and degrade service and drive away customers, setting it up for privatization?
Exactly, well said. All we get from these clowns are the same old lip service. We have no product’s,all we provide is service. We do not design or manufacture anything.By the way,do they serve donuts at headquarters everyday? I see a resemblance in the PMG position, possibly a clone of Donahoe!
