STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A U.S. Postal Service truck slammed into the exterior of a laundromat in Port Richmond on Friday, according to a worker at the shop.
The glass windows of Clean Rite at 357 Port Richmond Ave. were shattered in the accident, which was reported at 9:56 a.m., according to an FDNY spokesman.
The worker said the truck slammed into the laundromat at about 9:45 a.m. after exiting from the lot and loading dock of the Port Richmond Station post office across the street.
The driver was taken to Richmond University Medical Center with chest pains, the Fire Department spokesman said.
