A U.S. Postal Service vehicle making rounds on Christmas Eve, Tuesday, Dec. 24, caught fire in Jurupa Valley and was destroyed, but the driver escaped uninjured.
The fire was reported about 11 a.m. in the 2800 block of Razor Way, near Hall Avenue, according to the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.
The blaze apparently started in the engine compartment and spread quickly and was raging by the time crews reached the location, according to the fire department.
Firefighters doused the flames in 10 minutes, but the vehicle and its contents were destroyed, according to a fire captain at the scene.
There was no word on monetary loss resulting from the fire.
