A small postal truck fire was extinguished overnight at the Kirkwood post office.

The fire started shortly before 1:30 a.m. Monday at the location in the 200 block of S Taylor. There was no visible damage to the truck or trailer.

Officials say the fire may have started after the brakes overheated.

There’s no word if any mail was lost.
