The prospect of Postmaster General Megan Brennan’s retirement early next year is alarming some postal union leaders, who are concerned that talk of privatizing the service comes at a time when only one of the four major postal unions has a labor contract in place.
“It kind of caught us by surprise,” said Paul Hogrogian of the announcement that Brennan will step down Jan. 31. Hogrogian is president of the National Postal Mail Handlers Union, which represents about 50,000 mail handlers.
“While I didn’t always agree with the postmaster general, I appreciated the fact that her door was always open.”

Washington Post: Trump wanted to remove Brennan from PMG job
Statement by APWU President on Retirement of Postmaster General Megan Brennan
“The APWU calls on the Board to appoint a PMG deeply dedicated to the public good and the public Postal Service and who respects the contributions, safety, well-being and union rights of postal workers. We need a Postmaster General committed to protecting universal service to every person, no matter who we are or where we live and to expanded postal services such as financial services and vote by mail.”
From Senator Bernie Sanders
We Need To Protect the U.S. Postal Service From Privatization
Danny Glover’s parents were able to buy a home with their savings from working for the U.S. Postal Service. We should modernize and expand our post offices and allow them to offer basic banking solutions—not privatize and destroy them, as Donald Trump and his billionaire friends want to do.

We’re all screwed…. I’ve been riding this gravy train like everyone else, but all good things must end.
Thank you for trying to say what is the truth while it is not in ones heart that the out come is set in stone.
Well at least the donut and muffin expenses will go down.
You can blame Barry Obammy for not getting off his ass and filling in the empty board seats… Obammy did the same crap with not appointing over 70 federal judgeship positions.
So now Trump has put his people in and it’s not going to turn out well for the postal service……can you say RIF?…. it’s going to get ugly.
The Postal employees that voted for Das Fuhrer will find out how their pal will support them. If the Postal service privatizes the Postal service watch the pay, retirement, health care, and working conditions disappear! they will find out how selfish people are today. The Das Fuhrer supporter’s won’t care. As long as they can cuddle their guns and bible they will smile no matter what happens to them!
Das is german for the soooo your phrase “the das fuhrer” is redundant
But your boy Barry Hussein Obammy made this all possible by not appointing any postal board members…. Obammy did nothing for postal workers his whole time he was in office….now that Trump has his own people in you’re going to see it privatized… Obammy could have averted this if he would have got off the golf course and done his job.
Their are many possible things that may come to pass. I would be the
last to tell anyone how to vote. Any product or service does have a limit
as far as cost. Many people in our country understand what is like to be
thrown under the bus. The problem is USPS expects treatment from the
public, that is different from the standard that they set!.
