A Westmoreland County postal worker previously convicted of union embezzlement is now charged with mail theft.
A federal grand jury Tuesday indicted Frank J. Rysz, 49, of Mt. Pleasant. He stole cash from three first-class letters and also took an advertising circular, prosecutors say. He faces up to five years in prison and a fine of $250,000.
Rysz pleaded guilty in November 2012 to stealing $12,514.19 from the Letter Carriers, National Association, AFL-CIO, Branch 1124, when he was the local’s secretary-treasurer between 2007 and 2010. He was sentenced to three years of probation with the first five months on home detention, and ordered to pay restitution
well said Bonzo……. we get these meager little raises and the unions pat themselves on their back and we are all supposed to be so grateful and worship Diamondstein and Rolando….. the game is the same every contract and this one will be no different…… even a lot of the teachers unions get at least 3%….. and we are to be so excited for our 1%?? yeah, that’s why a lot of employees in our building work 2nd jobs
Moe the Schmoe Biller, BurrASS, Guffy, Diamondstein all alter boys lol. new contract coming, after all the bells and whistles………..lucky if you get a crummy 1% annual raise. more things change-the more they stay the same. factoid-NYPD SGT’s union inked a 7 year deal of 11%…….1.8% a year almost double what we EVER got. is a-pee-U going to hire a K street employment law firm to handle negotiations………or are the high school crowd union dopes going to go up against postal mismgt hired lawyers? same thing over and over again with no meaningful increase is insane! 1% raise when “true inflation” is 6%-8% is not a raise kiddies. the “rigged core inflation” has gutted the COLA. call diamondsteins dc telephone and say you want a real raise.
We have had a time with an incompetent secretary/treasurer who may not have been deliberately dishonest, but was too stupid for the job. The problem was nobody in the branch wanted the job and so we were stuck. This is why you should have trustees review the books every quarter in a large branch where there is more money and expenses. Our little branch doesn’t have much in the way of expenses, outside a token monthly check for officers and Christmas dinner or the occasional retirement send off.
Just shows you anybody in any position is capable of being a thieving jerk.
