A U.S. Postal Service worker from Bellmawr allegedly stole mail and ran an unincorporated business that sold bootlegged DVDs, authorities say.
David Lodi, 55, also failed to report earning income from his business while he collected workers compensation for an alleged injury, according to federal court documents.
Lodi pleaded guilty to making false statements, theft of mail and copyright infringement in a plea agreement filed July 16 in federal court in Camden.
Lodi, who worked as a mail processing clerk, operated his business under the names “Instacurb,” “Video Dave” and “Video Dave 2009″ from about 2006 through 2011, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for New Jersey.
Authorities said Lodi resold various items, including collectibles and sports memorabilia, but the vast majority of the business involved distributing counterfeit, pirated and bootlegged movies on DVD.
Court records state Lodi unlawfully reproduced the motion pictures and at times obtained unauthorized copies from China-based websites that provided “pre-release” films.

Another hard working & honest CRAFT employee, who takes advantage of his employer.
Stories like this make all postal workers look very, very bad. I am more disturbed regarding my co-worker who always comes in late. Daily sleeps on-the-job. On and on… His behavior is applauded by none of my union co-workers. BUT they do not have to work with this A$$hole. Union steward has washed his hands. No one likes nor wants the parasite, yet he still gets paid.
Stroke of luck: he just filed a work comp. “claim”, but is being denied due to his bogus story. BUT he is not in the building! Joy for all of us who do not have to put up with that D1cK anymore! He is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay worse than any management person. EVER!
My point is that there is more than one bad apple in the crate. But there are a lot of good apples (workers) who suffer from the bad acts of others. Do NOT let the bad apples hide behind union protection! Protect our union and boot out the scabs.
Greed never satisfies.
These guys always get caught… yet, there is always someone trying to do the same thing…I keep reading about these same type stories over and over.
