Postal worker struck in head by metal object thrown at vehicle

The Sheriff’s office is asking for your assistance. Early this morning, November 25th, 2015 a transport driver for the U.S. Mail division in Lubbock was traveling southbound thru Ropesville, Texas when his vehicle was struck by a metal object that penetrated the front windshield and entered the cab of the vehicle, hitting the driver in the right side of the head.

The driver indicated that he observed what appeared to be two male juvenile subjects in the area where this incident took place.

From evidence gathered on scene, it appears the metal object was thrown in the path of the driver. Read more

The Hockley County Sheriff’s Office received a second call from another motorist advising a similar incident.

The United States Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for the person(s) responsible for the assault on the postal service driver.
