Postal Worker targeted in extortion, email threat

A man who says he was angry his gold was stolen, is facing possible felony charges of extortion and threats with an explosive device.

Threats that included a request for a ransom payment led to the arrest of James Pinkerton, 49, Catoosa.

Tuesday, United States Postal Inspection Service Inspector Daniel Nevels was notified of an emailed threat on a postal service employee which named the Rogers County Sheriff and included a ransom payment request, according to Catoosa Police Department records.

According to CPD, the email says, “Scott Walton made a big show and did nothing. A 12 gauge device will be placed in a mailbox to destroy a mail carrier. Transfer $5,000 to my PayPal, SatansArmy. Three days after this message is delivered the device will be placed and a mail carrier will be erased.”
