In her latest “Business Focus” video, Postmaster General Megan J. Brennan urges employees to stay safe during hot weather.
She reminds everyone to complete required safety training, which includes guidance on staying cool and tips on recognizing signs of heat stroke and heat exhaustion.
“Building awareness and guarding against heat-related illnesses ensures that we all understand the signs and symptoms,” she says.
On the public policy front, Brennan discusses efforts by the administration to return USPS to a sustainable business model.
“The Postal Service welcomes the interest and engagement from the administration in addressing our financial situation. However, we will be thoughtful and considerate about any potential suggestions to fix our broken business model,” Brennan says.
Any recommendations must include all stakeholders in a transparent review process that considers the effects on consumers and businesses, she says, adding that Congress has the ultimate responsibility for establishing a more effective business model for USPS.
Additionally, Brennan notes the Postal Service is continuing to seek immediate reforms, including greater pricing flexibility.
Other topics addressed in the video include the organization’s improved system to measure its service performance and the next quarterly financial report, slated for release Aug. 9

I wonder if Megan “Fat” Brennan has ever been to Florida?? “Just Stay Cool” is not an option, “Sit down and have a drink of water” rest awhile??
Then when you get back to the office you will be called in for an Investigative Interview which could lead to removal for coming back late.
I would like to see the Megan Muffin put in a truck delivering mail in Florida. The sweat would be so deep she would actually drown. Might be the only way she will ever lose weight. Why would anyone make a statement like just stay cool when they know the words are meaningless to managers. As Doughnut breath said, the Service is using way too many work hours for the workload that we have. So all you slackers need to take on more work in the 100 degree heat but he LETS JUST STAY COOL OUT THERE.
After daily “Heat Advisories – recognize heat stroke” talk, we had enough.
No actual action to protect employees!
NOTHING! ZERO!
We get nothing for relief.
Bottled water?
ICE?
How about deliver in AM & case tomorrow’s mail after A.M. delivery (in AC during heat of day)?
NOTHING!
CALL OSHA!!

We sent this information for portable cooling system to management
it cost about $250 per vehicle

Call your congressman & demand they protect the integrity of the mail, if not the lives of federal employees.
Quit whining…. and get Dumber and poorer.. Delivery Boy!!!!
IOD Brennen only is PMG because she munched on Donahoe’s root! the old girl knows whats it like to be in the hot zone.
That’s all we need is another video to watch while delaying us to make sure we get out on our routes during the hottest time of the day.
Lets put all upper management in hot trucks,
Empty bS from a grossly incompetent PMG. Management is still going to push those damn numbers, and they couldn’t be less concerned about your safety. The only thing they fear is reprisal for wrongdoing, and most people are not really geared for that kind of action for fear of their jobs or stress levels that are already ridiculous.
The NALC therefore has to step up. Every single branch in this country must have proactive leadership that is on the side of the carriers, not suck ups and deal makers with local management. And I know that happens a lot. If your officers, the steward and president specifically fail or refuse to do the right thing by defending your right to protect yourselves from excessive heat and cold and abusive and contract breaking management, you must take action and vote them out. Only when all branches are solidly behind those who pay the dues for the representation they pay for and deserve will management be forced to behave. I have been told of terrible things some NALC branch leaders have done to their own members, including being snitches because they just didn’t like a dues paying member, where such considerations should never be a factor, and higher ranking union bosses ordering DRT teams to sabotage certain branches’ grievances to try to get members to vote out an officer the higher ups don’t like. That includes people getting fired and not getting represented all because of a pissing match between NALC officials. I KNOW this has happened, and continues to.
So between Brennan acting like she gives a rat’s ass, and lying about her concern for anybody but herself, and demanding all management to deliver the numbers she wants, which means carriers won’t be allowed time to be safe, and some branches who do not stick up for themselves, many carriers suffer through no fault of their own. It is up to you to protect yourselves. It’s also your responsibility to assure you have the best representation possible.
NALC is a joke, *especially* at national. You want a mgmt. suck up union official, look no farther than Rolando et al.
WE NEED A/C IN OUR WORK PLACE JUST LIKE THE PMG HAS IN HER WORK PLACE .
covering her ass after the female letter carrier died in 107 degree heat…..these bureaucrats are despicable….she should be fired by Trump! unethical and no moral compass, pretty much sums up IOD Brennan! Obammy holdover….not surprised!
Go have another doughnut. You and your cronies couldn’t run a lemonade stand.
Little more than management pablum. If she really cared about the carriers she would make sure noone worked more than 8 hours during these hot days, and punished managers and their supervisors if they put carriers in danger. “Just stay cool” what bs!
The Postal Service is going to disconnect the Air conditioning units in every Post Office. Management is going to go through what the carriers go through! Management also isn’t going to open the windows. They want the building to be as comfortable as a LLV. They will drink water and maintain schedule. No O. T.
