Public holds Postal Service in high esteem, poll shows

Public holds Postal Service in high esteem, poll showsMore Americans have a favorable view of the Postal Service than any other government agency, a new survey by the Pew Research Center has found.

Eighty-four percent of respondents view USPS favorably, ranking it highest on a list of 17 federal agencies. Rounding out the top five: the National Parks Service (viewed favorably by 75 percent), the Centers for Disease Control (71 percent), NASA (70 percent) and the FBI (68 percent).

The findings, released Nov. 23, are based on interviews with 6,000 individuals that represent a sampling of the nation.

The results align with similar surveys, including a Gallup poll in May that found that the public is overwhelmingly satisfied with mail delivery, ranking it higher than any other government service.

Pew’s findings on the Postal Service are part of a broader poll on the public’s trust in government.

“[M]ost Americans give government good ratings in a number of areas,” Pew’s analysts wrote.

Half or more say the government is doing a “very good” or “somewhat good” job in 10 areas, including responding to natural disasters and setting workplace standards.

  1. The real system of the USPS were making it happen. Now we have modern technology and one area has no idea what is going on in another, ex: the grievance payout system. Somewhat shocking to find out, this to be true at least to a point.
Largely most of the people are moving the mail correctly, at all times, making those statements true. Simply, a small percentage causing non productive issues to rise. Yet the system are dependable to get it there. Only outside interference wrongly applied will mitigate intervention.
