A retiring Postal Service employee was thrust into the spotlight last week when a farewell letter to his customers became a social media sensation.
“I’m not high-tech. I write letters,” said Glendale, AZ, Letter Carrier Michael Raymer, who will retire soon after 20 years with USPS.

“I just thought this was the best way to let my customers know that, when they look out their door in a few weeks and see a different person delivering their mail, they’ll know why.”
In the note, Raymer wrote, “It has been a privilege and a pleasure to be your mail carrier. I have enjoyed getting to know you and hope I have provided a service to your liking.”
He delivered the letter to all 540 homes on his route. One customer shared a photo of the note on the online bulletin board Reddit, where it went viral.
Since then, Raymer has been profiled by local TV news and even the Daily Mail, a British newspaper.
“I’m just going to miss the people,” he said. “I hope I’ve made a difference.

I feel a Gentleman like him would be so proud of himself, that the letters were delivered on his day off. Anything else we take the 5th.
Hope the PO doesn’t charge him for postage on those notes.
