Washington, DC – The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects who robbed a U.S. Postal Service letter carrier on February 25, 2014, in the 100 block of Webster Street NE, Washington, DC.

Yesterday at approximately 4 p.m., a letter carrier was delivering mail when two suspects, wearing ski masks and brandishing guns, forced him into a vehicle. The suspects assaulted the letter carrier, who experienced minor injuries. He was taken to the hospital, received treatment, and was released last night.

Postal Inspectors and Washington, DC, Metropolitan Police are conducting a joint investigation.

The suspects are identified as black males, approximately 20-30 years old, with medium builds and weighing between 165 lbs to 175 lbs. They were last seen driving a tan-colored, late 1980s to early 1990s model conversion van.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the U.S. Postal Inspection Service at 877-876-2455 (press 2). The suspects should be considered armed and dangerous, and the public should not take any action to apprehend the individuals. All information will be kept confidential.

Armed robbery of a U.S. Post Office or postal employee is a violation of Title 18, U.S. Code, Section 2114, and is punishable by a prison term of up to 25 years.
