Reward offered for return of ‘Hot Pink Girl’ mailbox

A LaPorte County woman reported someone stole her beloved six-foot tall “hot pink girl” mailbox holder

November 24, 2014 – A LaPorte County woman is offering a $100 reward in hopes of getting back her beloved six-foot tall “hot pink girl” mailbox holder.

She would also like to see the thief caught.

“I’m upset that some low life would drive around looking for something to steal,” said Theresa Dale, who discovered her pink powder coated statue of a girl made of pipe missing Saturday morning outside her residence in the 6500 block of West Forrester Road between LaPorte and Westville.

Dale said she had the statue custom made six months ago after seeing one a few miles east of LaPorte and it made her smile.

The figurine of a woman held her mailbox on its extended right arm while the other arm was held high seemingly waving at passersby.

Dale said the statue was anchored in concrete but somehow the tamper proof bolts holding it to the slab were loosened, allowing the 70 pound figurine to be lifted up and carried away.
