7/20/2018 Two men who orchestrated a scheme to recycle stolen pallets belonging to the United States Postal Service and sell them for profit have been sentenced to two years in federal prison.
Hugo Guzman, 40, of Fontana was sentenced Thursday while Jorge Villalobos, 41, of Riverside was sentenced in April, the United States Attorney’s Office announced on Friday, July 20. They were ordered to pay $3.4 million in restitution to the Postal Service after pleading guilty to conspiracy to convert government property and conspiracy to launder money.
Villalobos and Guzman are president and vice president respectively of Go Green Industries in Riverside, which recycles, processes and compounds plastics.
Between 2008 and 2014, the two knowingly acquired stolen plastic pallets that belonged to the United States Postal Service and shred them and sold the plastic for profit, prosecutors said, adding that they also laundered the proceeds to two accounts.
Why of course, a dock supervisor and a transportation manager were promoted. They now have opportunity to steal more valuables in the mail stream.
Were any USPS Employees involved?????????????????????????????????
In cahoots? Perish the thought. Probably.
