  1. This is why the Postal service needs to exploit this price advantage directly in their marketing strategies via television, billboards, radio, etc; The impedence of clear and decisive relief from the current postal reform bill misses the mark on negating to eliminate the overdue payments in excess of 17 billion which is derived from the mandated 5.5 billion payments signed into law by the Bush administration covering future retiree health benefits. These benefits were already preserved for decades before this rediculous requirement was mandated. The future heart beat of the Postal service going forward is clearly “priority mail and packages”. With this price advantage and excellent delivery the dominance in these area’s competitively signals a clear profit margin reducing the declining first class letter mail volume that has been eroded through the continued use of electronic means. I would also think it to be wise and calculating of the Postal service to reconsider the closings of facilities across the country and instead utilize them as package business location points strategically located to facilitate these services. This also keeps employee’s in a job located either close or in their home towns instead of the alternatives.
